Sheena George, CSJP – Congregation Councillor
Sister Sheena George, a native of India, is currently living in Jersey City, New Jersey, in an intentional intercultural community for mission with two other Sisters of St. Joseph of Peace and two candidates. She has a master's degree in pastoral counseling and a bachelor’s degree in theology and psychology. Her ministerial history includes young adult ministry, teaching, chaplaincy, and serving on boards, such as the Congregation’s sponsored ministry York Street Project, which promotes the healing of persons in need, especially women and children. Sister Sheena volunteered at refugee camps in Calais, France, and started a house of hospitality for refugee women in Jersey City. She is passionate about religious life and living and promoting nonviolence. Listening to music, reading and neighborhood walks are her favorite pastimes.
