Ministries

We commit ourselves to be involved in ministries and action which affect the contemporary situation of women in church and society.

— Constitution 22

Community life sustains us in ministry. Likewise ministry enlivens and enriches our life in community. In discerning our choice of ministry we take account of this mutual relationship.

— Constitution 19

We rejoice in God's daily invitation to seek justice, to love tenderly, and to make the Good News visible as we minister in education, health care, justice advocacy, missions, spirituality and with women and families.

Each sister or associate answers our call to seek God's gift of peace and pursue justice through his or her own particular ministry calling. Read some of our ministry stories.

Sponsored Ministries are those in which the sisters are responsible for insuring that the CSJP charism permeates every aspect of the life of the institution. Most of the CSJP sponsored ministries described in this section include links to the ministry websites. If you would like to support any of our ministries, please use the links to the ministry websites provided in this section of the website.

This Congregation had its origin in the founder's response to the social concerns and needs of the time. (Constitution 4)

From the very beginning the sisters were involved in education.

Care of the sick has been a ministry of the Sisters of St. Joseph of Peace since our founding.

The Sisters of St. Joseph of Peace have always had a missionary component. We were first founded by Irish sisters who left their homeland to serve in our missions.

The Sisters of St. Joseph of Peace sponsor and support a number of ministries to women and families.

Peace & Spirituality Center

The mission of the Center is to offer a place of peace, prayer, beauty and hospitality to all who seek renewal of spirit.

Peace Ministries was formed in 2014 to strengthen the Congregation’s ability to govern and advocate for their sponsored ministries in New Jersey into the future.
