Sisters Invite Youth and Young Adults To Nottingham Retreat Day

The Sisters of St. Joseph of Peace are collaborating with the Verbum Dei Missionary Community to host a retreat day for youth and young adults in Nottingham on Saturday 27th April at Our Lady of Perpetual Succour Parish Hall, Brooklyn Road, Bulwell, Nottingham, NG6 9ES. Youth age 15 to 18 years are invited from 9 am to 12 pm. Young adults age 19 to 25 will gather from 2 pm to 5 pm. Young adults 25 years + are invited from 6 pm to 8 pm. Snacks, food, and drink will be provided on the day. The event is free, although any donations made on the day are welcome.
“Our hope is that this is a fun and faith-filled opportunity,” said St. Joseph of Peace UK Vocation Director Sister Maureen Brennan. “There will be time for prayer, fun, reflection, discussion, and just getting to know other young people in a relaxed and friendly environment.”
The Sisters of St. Joseph of Peace and Verbum Dei Missionary Community have been collaborating in the United States over the past year on spirituality efforts for young adults and ecological projects. This is their first collaboration in the United Kingdom.
“The Sisters of St. Joseph of Peace were founded in Nottingham in 1884 to promote peace in family life, in the church, and in society,” said Sister Sheena George, a member of the Congregation Leadership Team. “The Verbum Dei Sisters are experts at creating retreats for young people. It seemed like a natural match to work together to create this opportunity for the young people in the Diocese of Nottingham.”
