In Memory: Frank McCann, CSJP-A
Frank McCann, CSJP-A passed away on December 23, 2024. A long-time associate of the Sisters of St. Joseph of Peace, Frank served as the full time Peace through Justice Facilitator for the Congregation.
Frank first met the Sisters of St. Joseph of Peace in 1979 at St. Elizabeth's Parish in Wykoff, New Jersey where he and his wife Eileen volunteered to help organize parish human concerns ministries in their deanery under the leadership of Suzanne Golas, CSJP. Frank and Eileen became associates in 2005 and made their lasting covenant in March 2015. Frank served since 2013 as the Congregation Peace through Justice Facilitator, which he saw "as a way to live my Gospel call and that allows me to assist others in living theirs."
He brought a wealth of experience to this role which enabled him to educate, empower, and accompany sisters and associates as we lived into our Chapter calls to grow in nonviolence, care for creation, radical hospitality, and the intentional living of inclusion. Frank embodied the call to collaboration and greatly expanded the reach of our charism through his active participation and leadership with a wide network of partner organizations at the United Nations, in shareholder advocacy, and peace and justice. Surely we now have another strong advocate in heaven.
Eternal rest grant unto him,
O loving God,
and let perpetual light shine upon him.
May he rest in peace.
Amen
