Sister Katrina Renews Her Vows

On Saturday, the 29th of September, 2017, Sister Katrina Alton, CSJP renewed her vows of poverty, celibacy, and obedience as a Sister of St. Joseph of Peace. The renewal ceremony took place during a Eucharistic liturgy at our autumn community retreat assembly in Loughborough, England, in the presence of the Congregation Leadership Team and sisters and associates from the UK region. Sister Coralie Muzzy, CSJP, Congregation Director of Formation, travelled from the United States for the occasion. Fr Martin Newell, a friend of Katrina and the community, presided at our beautiful liturgy.

After her renewal of vows, the community blessed Katrina with this prayer:

Katrina, we bless you with peace and hold you in love this day as you renew your vows. We pray that you will be filled with courage, strength and joy as you continue to live out the gospel of peace in its mission of justice as a Sister of St. Joseph of Peace. And may the peace of Christ, which surpasses all understanding, keep your heart and mind in the knowledge and love of God in Christ Jesus, Amen.

"So Christ is our model and in order to imitate Him we have to do strange things – things that seem almost inexplicable, but at the last days, when our work is taken off the loom of life, we shall see the beauty that comes into our soul by this work."
