Sukyi Hur, Candidate for Vowed Commitment

Sukyi Hur was welcomed as a Candidate for Vowed Membership during the Spring Assembly on March 16th, 2008.  Sukyi is a native of South Korea and a Doctor of Oriental Medicine, practicing Korean-style acupuncture and herbal medicine.  She studied and taught at South Baylo University in Anaheim, CA.

Sukyi has been visiting with the Sisters of St. Joseph of Peace for several years.  Recently, she moved to St. Mary-on-the-Lake, Bellevue, and became a Pre-Candidate, the first step in the process toward vows.

During Candidacy, Sukyi will continue to live with a CSJP community while working and learning more about the CSJP history and charism.  Sr. Jo-Anne Miller, Vocation Director for the Western Province, will continue to journey with Sukyi as her mentor.
