A retreat at the Peace and Spirituality Center or at St. Mary-on-the-Lake may last a day or several days.
Day Retreatants may come to the Peace and Spirituality Center for a day of personal retreat, solitude and prayer. A spiritual direction room is made available to the retreatant. They may also walk the labyrinth and enjoy the peace and quiet of the spacious grounds.
Overnight retreatants are the guests of the Sisters of St. Joseph of Peace. Overnight women retreatants are usually housed in one of our comfortable convent-style rooms with shared baths; both men and women are welcome at our Hillside Hermitage, a one-room cabin equipped with a small refrigerator and microwave oven.
Retreatants usually choose to have meals with the Sisters in the main dining room; meals may be taken in silence, or the retreatant can join one of the tables for conversation.
Among the pleasures of a St. Mary-on-the-Lake retreat are strolling down to the lake, sitting on the dock, walking our labyrinth or our peace path, enjoying our woods and gardens, and praying in our beautiful chapel.
Spiritual direction from a Sister of St. Joseph of Peace is available for retreatants at St. Mary-on-the-Lake for an additional donation.
"We must be signs of hope and healing in the midst of the cultural reality in which we find ourselves."
